Before Your Rental Period Expires

The return date for your textbook(s) will be posted on your CollegeBookRenter.com account immediately following your rental charge and will remain posted on your account throughout the rental period.

Collegebookrenter.com will send an email reminder 7, 3, and 1 Day(s) prior to the expiration of the rental period.

Example: If your rental period ends on 25 May, then you will receive a personalized notification email from CollegeBookRenter.com on 18th, 22nd, and 24th of May

*Failure to receive an email reminder does not waive your obligation to have your textbook(s) returned or postmarked by the end of the rental term.

After Your Rental Period Expires

If your textbook(s) is not returned and/or a UPS Return Label has not been generated by the last day of your rental period, then your credit card will be charged a 15 day extension fee.

If your textbook(s) is not returned and/or a UPS Return Label has not been generated by the last day of your 15 day extension, then your credit card will be charged the list price of the textbook(s), minus the 15 day extension fee.

You will be notified via email of these charges!

In the event that any charges against the customer's credit card are declined for any reason, CollegeBookRenter.com reserves the right to initiate criminal charges.

If Your Book Is Received Following The Expiration Of The Rental Period

If your textbook(s) is shipped after you have been charged for the list price, then the textbook will remain the property of CollegeBookRenter.com. CollegeBookRenter.com will not pay the shipping cost to send back the textbook!

Textbook Is Returned to a Third Party Seller

If a textbook(s) rented through CollegeBookRenter.com is returned to a Third Party seller for any reason, then the Customer will be charged a $15.00 penalty fee.

If a textbook(s) rented through CollegeBookRenter.com is lost, damaged or stolen while being mailed to a Third Party seller, then customer will be charged the listed price of the textbook.

You will be notified via email of these charges.

Textbook Is Lost, Stolen Or Damaged

If the rented textbook is lost, stolen, or damaged during your rental period then you will be held responsible and will be charged the necessary penalty fees at the end of the rental period.

Damage Fees

  • Our policy on damaged textbooks is very strict, because we want to supply our college students with best product possible.
  • Zero writing in the rented textbook will be tolerated!
  • Minimal highlighting is allowed in our textbooks.
  • If you do not comply with these guidelines, then the textbook will be determined unusable and you will be charged the full list price of the book.
  • Each textbook will be thoroughly inspected upon arrive to our warehouse.
  • Any damage to the textbook due to other reasons will fall under the same policy and you will be charged the full list price.
    • Examples include:
      • Torn out or missing pages
      • Damaged textbook cover or spine/binding
      • Stains on or inside the textbook
      • Water damage
      • Any other damages that would determine the book unusable
  • Damage due to shipping will evaluated on a case by case basis!

Your Textbook Was Never Received

If you do not receive your textbook in the allotted shipping time then you will need to contact CollegeBookRenter.com immediately. CollegeBookRenter.com will assume that the textbook was lost in the mail and will send you a replace copy of that textbook.

Refund Policy

At CollegeBookRenter.com, we understand that refunds will be requested from our customers for a number of reasons, to include dropped or canceled classes. Please contact Customer Service so the we can send you detailed instructions on how to return your book for a refund. Since we offer several difference rental period options, the length of time available to return your book varies. In general, 60-Day rentals must be returned within 15 days of the original order date to receive a refund. To qualify for this refund, your return package must be postmarked by UPS within 15 days of your orginal order date. 90-day and 130-Day rentals must be returned within 30 days of the original order date. To qualify for this refund, your return package must be postmarked by UPS within 30 days of your original order date. Customers will be issued a refund minus the cost of shipping.

How Do I Return My Textbook

CollegeBookRenter.com makes returning textbooks easy and free!

  • Log on to Collegebookrenter.com account using your email address and password.
  • Select the textbooks you want to return and click on the "Print Return Labels" button.
  • Print off the two packing slips for your order and the UPS shipping label.
  • Tape the return shipping label to the package being used to return the textbook(s).
  • Make sure the packing slip is placed in the return package
  • Drop the package at any UPS location and the rest is history!

ONCE THE UPS LABEL HAS BEEN PRINTED, THE PACKAGE MUST BE DROPPED AT A UPS SHIPPING LOCATION WITHIN 72 HOURS. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS MAY RESULT IN LATE FEES BEING ASSESSED TO YOUR ACCOUNT

DO NOT MAIL YOUR TEXTBOOKS BACK TO COLLEGEBOOKRENTER.COM IN A USPS PRIORITY SHIPPING BOX. IF YOUR TEXTBOOKS ARRIVE IN A PRIORITY MAILER, YOU WILL BE CHARGED THE ENTIRE RETURN SHIPPING COST.

ALL TEXTBOOKS MUST BE RETURNED TO COLLEGEBOOKRENTER.COM BY USING THE RETURN INSTRUCTIONS LISTED ABOVE. ANY TEXTBOOK(S) RETURNED TO A THIRD PARTY SELLER WILL BE SUBJECT TO LATE FEES.
